REDTIGER F7NP Dash Cam

What an AMAZING CAMERA!!!! I recently came across an insurance fraud video that encouraged me to get a camera for my car. The quality is amazing!! The cord is long enough that it doesn’t get in the way and is concealed very well. The app works okay connecting is a little annoying especially if you have wireless apple CarPlay but nothing crazy. You can access the recordings when you connect to the device WiFi. Just wish you can always have access to the recordings but again not a big deal and I guess makes sense since you’d only really want the recordings if you get into an accident. What I really like is how when looking back at the recordings, you can see where you are on the map and how fast you’re going!! Really amazing camera 10/10!

We purchased this for our semi for cars that pull right in front of us to protect us from stupid people driving. The quality is super good. We have been using it for quite some time with no issues. Totally recommend this dash camera. Very sturdy suction cup.

The after-sale support is outstanding. The customer service reps (CSR) promptly respond to your needs. I had occasion to contact RedTiger by phone on one issue, and by email on another. Both cases, the CSRs sent me an additional product that solved my problem, promptly. They definitely wanted my experience to be a successful install.

The 1st issue was an apparent missing fuse tap in the hard-wire kit that I ordered. Quickly followed up with an extra fuse tap mailing. No listening to music while waiting for a CSR...just a prompt answer.

The 2nd issue was the suction-cup camera mount that would not adhere to the frits on the windshield. Even 3M VHB tape would not adhere to the soft plastic on the suction-cup mount. The CSR sent me the REDTIGER Adhesive Mount F17 Dash Cam with GPS Module which mounts on their adhesive static film. Use a heat gun or hair drier on low heat to press the film onto the frits. Works great on the frits!

So the product is excellent, as well as the customer support. The challenge is in the cabling.

My car has airbags in the driver’s A-pillar, as well as air-curtains between the B & C-pillars for the rear passenger. Installing the rear camera in the headliner trim would interfere with the air-curtain, and the most direct route on the A-pillar would interfere with the airbag. The air bags will deploy, regardless of the cables. But the cables will present a laceration hazard to the passenger(s), propelled by the explosive force of the airbag. You can find YT vids advising for various car models.

So, for the rear camera cable, I chose a cable-way on the floor of the car, bundled with other cables. For the A-pillar, I removed the trim cover, and installed the cable on the backside of the airbag, bundling it with the other manufacturer’s cables.

The final challenge is getting all the trim reinstalled without breaking the plastic body trim clips.

If you choose to hard-wire the dash-cam, you will need a device such as a multi-meter to (1) ID which circuits are always on and which are ignition switchable in the fuse box, and (2) the hot and cold side of the tapped fuse slot.

The polarity of the fuse-taps are important (see image). The fuse-taps can be installed two different ways. If the fuse-tap are reversed, two fuses will be in parallel….a bad idea. It will put electrical load on the original fuse, causing it to continually blow. And it may also make the second fuse to blow slower…..not protecting the intended circuit. Use a multi-meter to correctly ID the polarity of the fuse installation. Also, the new dash-cam fuse must be installed in the top slot and the former fuse on the bottom of the fuse tap for proper protection. There are YT vids that will help you on this, such as the Anthony J350 or Simple DIY channel.

Overall, the RedTiger brand is an excellent value, and a quality product. Instructions are too small for me to read, but the RedTiger website offers a much improved installation guide. Packaging very good. I would buy this item again.

Camera quality is really good. Night time is really good as well. Don’t really have to worry about a battery life since it’s plugged into your car. It’s simple enough to use. It records in 60 second increments so it’s easier to narrow down which clip you need or want to save.

I bought another one for my 2nd car after 2 years of good use until now. I have tried many types of dash cams but this is the brand I like the most in terms of features and easy to use software, good support service. They have a very good customer support mode, respond quickly when I have problems with my device and help me fix it quickly. I recommend this product

I’ve had other dash cams before but none of them have topped this one. I love how quick it is to connect to my phone, the video quality is amazing, it doesn’t make random beeps, it’s very sturdy, and I like that wider look of it rather than the normal square ones you see.

My previous dash cam from Vava I loved but the adhesive melted in the hot window and I was never able to recover . I bought this one because it has a suction cup mount and I can take it out of the hot window . The only complaint is the pin that holds the camera in the mount comes out but I purchased a small nut and now it’s all fixed . I have had to call customer service twice once for the sim
Card and the other for the pin in the mount . Both times customer service was great they never asked more that the right question and sent me out any replacement I need free of charge . I can’t give enough praise to the customer service. The dash cam is great .

Took maybe 10-15 minutes to install with hiding the wires and the cameras are clear during the day and at night! It came with a 32GB SD card and it records the minute it turns on! So far, very happy with this purchase! I had been looking for a good camera that didn’t require drilling or screwing anything into my car and this is exactly what I was searching for. Highly recommend!

Purchased for our newly licensed driver. Setup was easy enough and the audio/video quality is amazing (we use the 4k setting). I Love that it has GPS tracking and it shows you the route the driver took, as well as the fact it displays your speed and that you can download the clips straight to your phone instead of having to remove the card and plug in to your computer. Will definitely be purchasing more for our other cars

Most places you have to find custoner service to get help with your products. Its very comforting to know I have this device and a trustworthy team! Very clear and visible screen quality!
